High Fashion Pillow!

When Walmart got some new fabrics in the spring I found one that just jumped out and made me think of my sister because she loves fashion so I got it so as to make her a pillow.

So I bought also light pink costume satin fabric and some light pink crystal organza fabric as well. I measured it all to the size I wanted and then I sewed the satin to the organza fabric with pink thread and then I sewed the high fashion one to the satin organza one. I placed the high fashion side to the gem organza side so it look inside out. I sewed with black thread on the inside of the pink thread of the satin organza one. Once I got to about a few inches to the end I flipped it right side in and using my finger and a pen I pushed the corners so they were crisp and pronounced. Then I sewed the closure shut.

All in all it is really easy to sew a pillow by hand or machine but definitely more time consuming by hand but that’s how I sew as I don’t have a sewing machine but this method is more relaxing for me anyhow. My sister absolutely loves the pillow and gets complements on it from her friends all the time. She has it in her favorite chair, pictured below, in her house where she does her personal bible studies.

I made a matching jewelry organizer with the rest of the high fashion fabric but I have yet to finish it but when I do I will post it.

  • Light Pink Crystal Organza- $4.44 a yard at Walmart
  • Light Pink Costume Satin- $1.97 a yard at Walmart
  • High Fashion Fabric- $3.97 a yard at Walmart, this is how much I think it was but I lost the sticker with the price so this is a rough guesstimate
