Beauty and the Beast Pillows!

I have been getting into making pillows again lately and lets just say we are practically choking on pillows at night lol. I had yet to make Anthony a pillow and so when scoring the fabrics at Walmart I saw the last remaining fat quarter piece that had a beauty and beast theme. I snatched it up quickly knowing it would match the other beauty and the beast themed gifts but as I looked around hoping to find another one low and behold I found one more but they really were the last two and since then they have been sold out. So deciding to use that fat quarter piece as the top section I bought a back to the pillows, two pieces of fat quarter fabric in light purple.

I like to wash any fabrics I buy first but this often causes fraying but its not a huge deal as I cut off the frayed parts and no one is the wiser but anyone can skip washing if they like. So laying the pieces outside side reversed so facing each other with the insides of each side facing out I took a dark blue string and got to work sewing it. I don’t have a sewing machine so I did all my sewing by hand and it does take a little bit of time but I can usually sew a medium to large pillow in a few hours given breaks and such. After I sewed all around the edges a few inches from the edge except leaving a small gap I turned it right side in and pushed the corners to pop them and make them sharp and crisp.

I used my Poly-fil stuffing and stuffed the pillow until I thought it was good and since Anthony knew I was making a pillow I asked him to touch but not look at the pillow to see if felt good. Once it was stuffed to the way I liked I used more dark blue string and closed up the gap. I repeated the process on the second beauty and the beast pillow that was for me and that was it, super simple.
