Distressed Milk Bottle!
Around the time I was looking for legs for my wooden crates
I played around with the idea of milk jar legs, I know weird but it looked better
in theory than actuality but in the end I kept the milk bottles and decided to
repurpose them as decorative side items.
One of the jars here I applied E6000 spray adhesive on and
then wrapped it in jute twine and then covered it in a layer of Ivory colored
chalk paint. When dry I went over it with white school glue and then brushed on
antique gold metallic acyclic paint but it didn’t crackle as expected but I am
beyond happy with the outcome and it looks way better this way. I intended to
remove the twine but the way it was painted it didn’t look good when I tried to
remove it so I thought it looked better with the twine so I kept it as is and I
think it has great character this way. Then to make the milk bottle look even
cuter and more rustic I added a few daisy flowers to the top of the jar.
I intend to add posts for the other 3 milk bottles in the future!
These are such cute decorative items that can be used in so many different ways!
