Bedroom Nightstand!
We have been needing a nightstand in our bedroom for
sometime now and I like eclectic pieces but that are still in a way organized
so when I bought one of the wooden crates on clearance one of my thoughts was
make it for our living room but after I made the distressed crate table I decided to leave that
one in our living room and to make this one as a nightstand for our bedroom.
My husband spray painted the wooden crate using Satin Spray
Paint in a Coral color. Once it was dry it took a bit of thought as to how to
decorate it and I had just bought a cool stencil in a tree design so I thought
to use Ivory chalk paint to make it on top and on the inside but as I did it on
top I decided to do it in color on the bottom and it turned out better so I went
over the ivory chalk one in color to match the other. Once the tree was painted
I free hand painted a caterpillar, flower, cactus and then traced some birds on the side and inside of
the crate a bit.
Now the legs for the nightstand are longer than the ones used for the living
room table so we tried to use a screw driver to make a hole and screw it in but
because of the way the legs were made we couldn’t get them to screw in correctly so we need to go back and fix them but even so it holds up just fine.
